Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom is the sequel to Kung Fu Panda. It is set to be in 3-D and will be directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, with most of the original cast returning in the previous film, along with new characters. The film is set to be released on June 3, 2011 and was originally going to be named Kung Fu Panda 2: Pandamonium.
Jack Black, the voice of Po the Panda, announced a Kung Fu Panda sequel during the 2009 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. The film stars the voices of Jack Black as Po, Gary Oldman as Lord Shen and Jean-Claude Van Damme as Master Croc, along with the voices of Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, James Hong, Victor Garber and Michelle Yeoh.
The plot will involve a new villain with a weapon so powerful it threatens the very existence of kung fu and their world. It is up to Po (Jack Black), Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), and the Furious Five (Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross and Jackie Chan) to defend what they know. Along the way, Po must confront his past.
